We are now seeking a Fixed Term Sous Chef to support our weddings, events, and multi-outlet catering operation through to November 2026. * Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie
* Experience in high-volume and multi-outlet kitchens
* Strong background in event and wedding catering
* Passion for fresh, seasonal, and sustainably sourced food
* Confident leading, supporting, and developing kitchen teams
* Good financial awareness, including stock control and supplier liaison
* Highly organised, calm under pressure, and detail-focused
* Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

Job Description
Key Responsibilities â Chef
As Sous Chef, youâll play a vital role in launching and supporting the leadership of a vibrant, multiâoutlet kitchen operation at one of the regionâs most exciting new destinations. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the Head Chef in delivering the culinary vision across the Farmshop, Café Restaurant, Barista Coffee Bar, Playbarn Café, Concessions, and Events & Hospitality spaces
* Supervising and mentoring kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained at all times
* Managing daily kitchen operations, including food prep, stock rotation, allergen control, and assisting with supplier coordination
* Working closely with frontâofâhouse and events teams to ensure smooth service for school visits, weddings, seasonal events, and private functions
* Maintaining consistency and efficiency across a logistically varied site, ensuring timely and highâquality food delivery
* Upholding food safety and hygiene standards, including compliance with HACCP procedures
* Contributing to menu development, bringing creativity and seasonal inspiration to the table
* Driving continuous improvement, offering ideas and feedback to enhance the food offering and kitchen operations
Qualifications

What Weâre Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a highâvolume, qualityâfocused environment
* A strong background in wedding and event catering â you know how to deliver under pressure and support seamless execution
* A track record of supporting, training, and motivating kitchen teams to maintain consistently high standards
* Financial awareness, with experience in food cost control, GP targets, stock management, and supplier coordination
* Excellent coaching and delegation skills â you lead by example and support the Head Chef in developing the team
* Highly organised, detailâoriented, and calm under pressure, especially during peak service
* An empathetic and effective communicator with a collaborative, solutionâfocused mindset
* Strong menu execution, planning, and problemâsolving abilities
* Able to work weekends and evenings as required by the operation
