An established and growing transport and logistics business is seeking a Transport Manager to lead operations across multiple transport divisions. You’ll oversee several transport functions — including general haulage, pallet network, and tanker operations — bringing teams together under one unified approach. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, proven operational experience, and the ability to develop and inspire others.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and manage transport teams across multiple divisions, including planners, drivers, and operational staff.
· Foster a positive and high-performing culture built around teamwork, communication, and accountability.
· Develop and implement personal development plans (PDPs) and conduct regular 1:1s to support team growth.
· Oversee the day-to-day running of transport operations, ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards.
· Take ownership of route planning, vehicle utilisation, and resource allocation to ensure efficiency and service excellence.
· Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation and company policies.
· Work closely with operations and planning teams to deliver outstanding service to customers across the UK and Europe.
· Identify opportunities to improve systems, communication, and overall performance across the transport function.
Key Requirements
· CPC qualification (essential).
· Proven experience in transport management within general haulage, tanker operations, or pallet network environments.
· Strong leadership and people management skills — able to motivate and unify teams across multiple sites.
· In-depth knowledge of transport compliance, driver hours, and fleet management.
· Excellent organisational and communication skills.
· Confident decision-maker with a hands-on approach and a focus on continuous improvement.
