The Role
Our international client, based in The Greater Glasgow Area (North), is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer. Role responsibilities include identifying business improvements in areas such as quality, safety, cost and delivery; initiating and fully supporting corrective actions and improvements by utilising a formal problem-solving approach; evaluating and identifying areas for improvements in relation to manufacturing processes and workflows; working alongside other key stakeholders, strive to minimise waste, engage in change management and support daily production activities.
Professional skills / experience
• Manufacturing experience with knowledge of quality/production methods, lean methodologies and project management skills.
• Mechanical systems assembly. You must be an experienced user of CAD and ideally also Creo/3D CAD.
• Continuous Improvement projects and activities, preferably green belt or above.
• NPI. PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) experience + project management skills.
• Mechatronics/electrical/electronic experience advantageous.
• Good IT skills/Microsoft packages, particularly Excel. Experience of simulation software for process flow/capacity modelling an advantage.
• Experience of working on diesel engines or in heavy engineering would be preferred, but is not essential.
Education / Qualifications
• BSc in Engineering discipline - Mech. Engineering/Manufacturing Systems/Quality/Mechatronics
