3-month contract role with a local authority
Summary
* This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority, focusing on the effective management of duties related to Education, Health, and Care (EHC) needs assessments and plans. The position involves leading the planning of placements across various educational sectors for pupils with EHC plans. The role is crucial in ensuring high-quality service delivery to children, young people, and their families.
Responsibilities
* Lead the strategic development of the SEND Team, ensuring high-quality service for EHC needs assessments and plans.
* Collaborate with SEND services and partner agencies to support schools in meeting the needs of children with SEND in mainstream settings.
* Work closely with Senior SEND Casework Officers to establish systems for case allocation and management.
* Ensure children, young people, and parents are central to the EHC needs assessment and planning processes.
Essential Experience
* Recent experience in an educational or Children’s Services environment.
* Experience in developing and implementing new practices to improve service delivery.
* Proven experience in managing staff and leading large teams.
* Strategic planning and development experience.
* Ability to work to timescales and meet challenging targets.
* Experience in managing and monitoring budgets.
Essential Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent level qualification.
* Extensive training in SEND reforms and the SEND legal framework.
* Evidence of continuing professional development in a relevant Children Services discipline.
Additional Information
* Working hours: 35 hours per week
* Location: Parklands Children & Family Centre, Liverpool, L24 0TY, United Kingdom
* Hybrid working: Minimum of 2 days per week on-site (one day must be a Tuesday)
* Requirements: Enhanced DBS & barred list check (Child) is required.
