Axon Moore are proud to be working in partnership with a leading business and brand based near Wigan in the recruitment of a Financial Controller.This is a high-profile role offering significant autonomy and ownership, ideal for a motivated, qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).The successful candidate will lead the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and collaborating closely with senior stakeholders to support and enhance commercial performance. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the production of monthly management accounts, providing insightful analysis.
* Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes across all departments.
* Ensure compliance with financial controls, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
* Act as a strategic partner to operational and commercial teams.
* Develop and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
* Maintain ownership of the balance sheet, ensuring timely reconciliations and accuracy.
* Present financial results and insights to senior leadership and the board.
* Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and reporting tools.
* Contribute to strategic initiatives, investment planning, and business case development.
* Direct line management of one.
* Support ad hoc projects aligned with the business’s growth plans.
