HR Business Partner
ITW | Glenrothes – Onsite 3–4 days per week
Syme Drummond are delighted to be partnering with ITW on a retained search for an HR Business Partner to join their Glenrothes site.
This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible, truly strategic HR role within a globally respected organisation. HR is positioned as a genuine partner to the business here, and the successful individual will work closely with an energetic and forward-thinking leadership team as the organisation continues its next phase of growth.
The opportunity
ITW is a Fortune 300 global organisation, with more than 80 business divisions operating worldwide. The Glenrothes site combines manufacturing capability with commercial innovation and emerging technology. As the business grows, the leadership team recognised the importance of embedding a true HR Business Partner on-site. This is not a traditional HRBP role focused on transactional activity. Operational HR administration such as payroll has been centralised within the wider HR function, allowing this position to focus on strategic business partnering initiatives.
The HR Business Partner will work closely with operational and commercial leaders, shaping the people agenda in line with the organisation’s commercial ambitions.
Key areas of focus will include:
* Strategic Business Partnering
* Operational HR Leadership
* Talent and Workforce Strategies
While employee relations activity exists, the site is considered relatively stable, allowing the role to focus heavily on forward-looking HR partnership and capability building.
The environment
ITW operates with a highly decentralised operating model, meaning individual business units are empowered to operate with significant autonomy.
For the HR Business Partner, this creates an environment offering:
* Genuine ownership of the people agenda
* Direct access to senior leadership
* Strong visibility across the organisation
* The opportunity to shape culture, capability and growth
This is not your traditional manufacturing environment. The leadership team are energetic, ambitious and commercially focused, and the business requires someone comfortable operating with pace, agility and independence. The culture is described as entrepreneurial, collaborative and trust-based, where individuals are encouraged to take ownership of their work and continuously improve how things are done.
About you
The ideal applicant will be an experienced HR professional who enjoys operating as a true business partner and influencing organisational capability.
You are likely someone who:
* Thrives in environments offering autonomy and ownership
* Enjoys working closely with energetic, commercially minded leaders
* Is confident coaching and influencing senior stakeholders
* Brings curiosity, pragmatism and a forward-thinking mindset
* Is comfortable operating with pace and agility in a changing environment
Experience within fast paced environments such as manufacturing, engineering or FMCG would be highly advantageous.
Location & working pattern
The role is based at the Glenrothes site, with an expectation of approximately three to four days on-site each week. The organisation operates a trust-based culture, encouraging individuals to manage their time in a way that supports both business needs and personal commitments. Occasional travel may be required for wider collaboration across the organisation.
Join a high-energy leadership team and help shape the people strategy of a growing, forward-thinking business within a global organisation.
