The Estates Department operate and maintain energy and environmental resources, controls, electrical and mechanical services, providing power, lighting, heating, air conditioning to wards, outpatients, and operating theatres. Estates directly impacts patient welfare, frontline clinical care, infection prevention and control, energy efficiency, and sustainability across the Trust.
We have an exciting opportunity for a committed, highly self-motivated individual. The Royal Marsden is looking for an Estates Support Officer to join the Estates Team in Chelsea. This broad-ranging role will expose the post holder to various Estates services including mechanical, electrical, building & energy control systems, and project management. The candidate must be proactive in developing their technical knowledge, engaging in active discussions about skills, techniques, and approaches to tasks, to develop as a skilled professional. All conduct must align with Trust Values.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Being dynamic and adaptable to changing needs and priorities. Taking proactive steps to learn all aspects of the role and maintain CPD.
2. Using initiative to proactively progress objectives and tasks.
3. Advancing Estates digitalisation, learning and implementing processes and procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
4. Becoming competent in digital tools such as CAFM, BIM, CDE, AutoCAD, NHS portals, databases like Model Hospital, PAM, Collaboration hub, and Excel software.

Additional responsibilities include:
1. Managing data collection, analysis, and systemisation to improve transparency and data quality, ensuring compliance with regulations.
2. Managing the CAFM system and training new staff.
3. Conducting physical surveys, audits, and risk assessments on assets and infrastructure.
4. Developing and analysing KPIs and SLAs, providing reports to demonstrate compliance and safety.
5. Maintaining information on risks, safety, and governance.
