The 3‑year apprenticeship programme will cover the maintenance, repair and inspections of the Renault Trucks range, and will develop your skills in complex vehicle diagnostics and electric vehicle systems.
As an apprentice, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in a dealer workshop and receive on‑the‑job training under the guidance of a skilled mentor. Renault Trucks is expanding, with the launch of our Electric Truck and Van portfolio, offering exciting career opportunities.

Training
Your training takes place at the state‑of‑the‑art Renault Trucks UK Training Academy in Whetstone, Leicester. You’ll learn from experienced commercial vehicle specialists, receive block‑release training at the Academy, and undergo regular workplace assessments.

* Functional Skills minimum Level 4 in Maths and English
A Typical Day
Based in the workshop, you’ll learn all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including:
* Materials, fabrication, tools, and measuring devices used in the commercial vehicle environment
* Inspection of heavy vehicles
* Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units, including pneumatic braking systems
* Diagnosing and rectifying engine, transmission, and electrical system faults
* Commissioning and decommissioning high‑voltage systems on battery electric vehicles
* Ensuring health and safety standards
* Contributing to workplace housekeeping
Requirements and Prospects
To complete the apprenticeship you must pass Level 1 English and Maths (or hold an exemption certificate) and work towards this level before the end‑point assessment.
