Brightpoint Community College invites applications for the position of Grounds Team Member. This position performs work related to college grounds and landscaping to help provide and maintain a safe, comfortable, and visually appealing campus environment that supports teaching and learning.
Primary responsibilities include grounds maintenance and landscaping; operation and maintenance of equipment; upkeep of natural areas, parking lots, sidewalks, and exterior signage; and assistance with classroom and office setups as well as mail deliveries.
This position is designated as Essential Personnel. Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
9. Knowledge of grounds maintenance principles, materials, equipment operation and repair, landscaping, horticulture, turf management, and workplace health and safety practices
10. Proficiency in operating a personal computer
11. Knowledge of OSHA workplace safety standards
12. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
13. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
14. Ability to problem solve
15. Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
16. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods of time
17. Ability to report to work as "essential" personnel within one hour of being called into work after hours and on holidays
18. Successful completion and passing of a background check.
