St Anne's School and Sixth Form College on Boothferry Road in Hessle are looking for outstanding people to join our exceptional team as Higher Level Teaching Assistants working across all student age groups (3 to 19 years).
We have 2 posts available. One is permanent and the other is fixed term until August 2026. Please specify on your application which post you wish to be considered for.
Teamwork is key at St Anne's. As a school for students with complex medical needs and Severe Learning Difficulties, the Higher Level Teaching Assistants will play a key role in providing a safe and productive learning environment as well as planning and delivering a range of learning experiences inside and outside the classroom.
Whilst mechanical aids are used where practicably possible, there is an element of manual handling involved in the role as is the requirement to assist with personal care, for example: feeding, changing and toileting.
A warm, caring and patient personality is essential to work at St Annes and you must be able to:
1. Show superb communication skills with children, young people, their carers and other agencies

3. Plan and prioritise under pressure
4. Be a trustworthy role model in and around our school community
5. Respect and maintain confidentiality whilst adhering to safeguarding principles at all times
6. Demonstrate you really care about children, particularly those who find learning and managing their behaviour difficult.
7. Demonstrate that you have the necessary skills and experience for a Special Needs Education setting.
You will have formal HLTA status/equivalent (or higher) relevant qualification with experience of working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
