Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Commercial) - London or Bicester

We now seek a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to be based in our London or Bicester office.
Role Responsibilities
* Manage medium-sized projects and multiple smaller projects, including client-facing development, design, and coordination of electrical engineering services, systems, equipment, and facilities. This includes producing design packages for contractors on design and build contracts.
* Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services.
* Conduct surveys, tests, and report on existing electrical installations.
* Specify activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to specifications and customer requirements.
* Make daily decisions on project progress.
* Liaise with and advise clients.
* Represent the company at technical meetings with clients, professional teams, and contractors.
* Perform engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet industry and legal standards.
* Oversee the technical content and accuracy of trainees, graduates, and engineers.
* Validate and review designs and specifications.
* Review contractor submissions, working drawings, and samples.
* Resolve on-site technical problems.
* Conduct QA/QC inspections and produce reports.
* Attend witness testing activities and prepare reports.
* Support project delivery in line with RED's Project Delivery Process, including project management, financial management, QA/QC, and technical review.
Role Requirements
* BEng, MSc, with sufficient experience.
* MCIBSE/MIET or HNC/HND with relevant experience, or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
* Good site-based experience, with practical background preferred.
* Experience with 11kV systems is advantageous.
* Proficiency in producing specifications and designs for various building types, including logistics centers, retail, IT sector, residential, commercial, pharmaceutical, and education.
* Knowledge of CDM Regulations and ability to produce Designer’s Risk Assessments.
* Understanding of health & safety legislation.
* Proficient in MS Office, REVIT, Bluebeam or similar PDF editors, and calculation software like Trimble/AMTECH.
* Good understanding of BS standards.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and work to deadlines, with flexibility to travel internationally.
* Managerial skills and ethical conduct in line with professional guidelines.
* Reports to the Associate and delegates responsibility to Graduate/Intermediate Engineers.
