Role: Quantity Surveyor Location: WC1, Oxford Circus Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 (DOE) Benefits: Travel allowance bonus scheme About your new company: Our client are a main contractor operating in the heritage / restoration / conservation sectors; listed buildings, period properties and landed estates. About your new role: Due to continued growth and successfully securing a number of new projects our client is seeking an Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. Duties to include: At pre-commencement stage organise pre-start meetings, co-ordinate the financial budgets, place sub- contract orders and liaise with logistics’ director / contracts manager for an organised start. Attending site meetings, preparing schedules of variations, co-ordinate valuations, co-ordinate the on- going budget through to final account. Place orders with sub-contractors and specialist suppliers for their timely delivery. Liaise with project / site manager / foreman / logistics to establish labour levels are on site are within the agreed financial budgets. Organise and manage the QS function of the project. Manage the overall project costs / budgets or variations through to a successful financial profit on costs. Attend meetings with clients’ / occupants’/ representatives to assist the financial management of the works through to completion. Raise / issue / manage the valuation / variation / certification / final account stages of the project in an organised and timely manner. Manage the QS office & site files / correspondence in an orderly fashion. On-going assistance / research to ensure best practices / materials / systems being employed to enhance the projects value. Requirements for the Intermediate Quantity Surveyor: You will need excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, strong IT skills and good technical knowledge. Proficient with MS Office packages Team player Previous experience in heritage / building restoration / conservation projects. A minimum of 3-4years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor is required. A background in main contracting is essential. Experience within heritage / restoration / conservation or high-end refurbishment is preferred but not essential
