Job Title: Industrial Electrician/ Electrical Engineer
Job Purpose: To carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding, and installation works across a range of industrial plant and equipment within busy feed mill operations. The role involves attending to breakdowns promptly, undertaking reactive and planned maintenance, and delivering electrical installation projects, ranging from small upgrades to large-scale machinery installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond promptly and effectively to electrical breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Perform reactive and planned maintenance across a variety of plant machinery, control panels, conveyors, motors, and associated electrical equipment.
Undertake electrical installation works including cable runs, containment, motor controls, panel wiring, and final terminations.
Diagnose faults on industrial control systems, including relays, contactors, timers, sensors, and overloads.
Work safely and independently when required, and within a team when necessary, following site safety and permit procedures.
Complete EIC and minor works documentation for repairs and works.
Assist in project delivery, machinery upgrades, and commissioning activities.
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised work environment.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Qualified electrician with NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365/2330 or equivalent.
18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification.
Proven industrial experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding in a production or feed mill environment.
Excellent working knowledge of relays, contactors, motor starters, and control systems.
Strong ability to problem-solve under pressure with a focus on root-cause analysis.
Confident in working independently with minimal supervision.
Familiarity with working at height, confined spaces, and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
Knowledge of PLCs and basic automation systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.).
Experience with 3-phase motor systems, VSDs/inverters.
Experience in installation and maintenance of process control panels.
Previous experience in feed milling, grain, or food production environments ideal.
IPAF, PASMA, or confined space certification (advantageous but not essential).
