Job summary
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic foundation level pharmacist to join our elderly care pharmacy team to provide maternity leave cover for 12 months. This position is suitable for a newly registered pharmacist. You will work with our friendly team of pharmacists, technicians and support workers to provide a clinical pharmacy service to in-patients across our elderly care wards.
Responsibilities
* Ward-based role predominantly, working as part of a team to complete medicines reconciliation, treatment reviews and discharge prescription validation for elderly patients.
* Training and support provided by experienced pharmacists, technicians and support workers to enable a thorough knowledge base and experience of clinical pharmacy.
* Structured induction process and training opportunities to build foundation portfolio.
* Contribute to the dispensary late night and weekend service on a rotational basis.

Job description and qualifications
* Masters degree in pharmacy obtained through four-year undergraduate training.
* Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council achieved by pre-registration training/experience and examination.
* Experience in pharmacy practice obtained through one year pre-registration training and examination.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to communicate with patients, medical and nursing staff of all grades in both primary and secondary care and to present written and verbal reports to senior hospital staff.
* Basic keyboard skills and familiarity with routine office software (word processing, spreadsheets and PowerPoint).
* Must be physically able to visit wards and departments within the hospital and to visit other Trust sites as required by job activities.
