Job Title: ASC Teaching Assistant
Location: Chesterfield
Hours: 8:45am to 3:15pm
Days: (full time and part time) Monday to Friday – this may lead to a permanent position with the school
£90 to £99 Per Day dependent on experience
About the role
Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with profound learning difficulties. The school provides for secondary age pupils aged who have special educational needs from a variety of conditions, most of which have autism and profound learning difficulties. Staff will need to have the ability to foster strong relationships with the children and to support them with their learning and development.
About the school
The school caters specifically for students with severe learning difficulties of all ages who are functioning significantly below age-related expectations and would struggle in mainstream settings. Many pupils have profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), with a large proportion being autistic, representing a wide range of cognitive and physical abilities and needs
1. Providing tailored support and working with children with SEN and complex needs
2. Personal care and hoisting(moving and handing) needed for the role
3. Creating a safe environment that allows children and other students have fun, learn and succeed

Requirements
9. Experience of supporting adults or children with SEND on a voluntary or paid basis OR/ experience of supporting those with complex needs in a care setting
10. Strong team work ethic
11. Driven, energetic and keen to pursue a career in education and special needs
12. Moving and handing and personal care required
