Manager - Employment Solutions

Based: Manchester, Leeds, London, Birmingham or Glasgow with hybrid working - see our network of 20 offices nationally:

The People Taxes group specialises in supporting employers to manage their UK and global income tax and social security compliance obligations and providing advice on employee reward. The employment solutions group sits within People Taxes and focuses on UK compliance and reward.

KPMG's employment solutions practice is a dynamic and successful area of our business. As a constantly changing and increasingly high-profile area, the team can offer a broad range of quality career paths to ambitious people, advise clients in the public and private sector on a range of employment related reward and compliance issues including employment status, end of year reporting, CIS, reward and benefits, CJRS, NMW and payroll compliance issues.

An opportunity exists for an Assistant Manager. Travel is an essential part of the role due to the nature of the projects.

What will you be doing?

1. Building and maintaining client relationships through high levels of client service.
2. Supporting on the delivery of advice to clients.
3. Proactively winning work with the team by managing existing clients and spotting new opportunities through client and team interactions.
4. Supporting senior team members with business development and marketing activities, both internally and externally.
5. Managing work in relation to a wide variety of projects in the areas set out above.
6. Involvement in local marketing initiatives.
7. Taking responsibility for delivering work to a high standard and meeting deadlines.
8. Reviewing work carried out by junior staff managing complex projects.
9. Managing teams of people including coaching and developing junior staff

What will you need to do it?

10. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for own work and guides others around best work practices.
11. Sustains a high level of drive, shows enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work.
12. Continuously learns from experiences. Seeks out feedback and development opportunities.
13. Gives clear directions, positive and constructive feedback. Coaches less experienced staff.
14. Works in a cooperative, respectful manner with colleagues, clients and the wider community.
15. Analyses problems, identifies core issues, investigates, evaluates and integrates information.
16. Communicates with impact, in a way that is open, honest, consistent and clear.
17. Builds the reputation of KPMG through the quality of work, knowledge and experience.
18. Monitors and upholds high quality of service and products to clients (internal and external).
