SEN Teaching Assistant – Maidenhead
Location: Maidenhead
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive school in Maidenhead.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support students with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties
2. Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored support and learning interventions
3. Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs)
4. Encourage student participation and independence within the classroom
5. Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
6. Promote a positive and nurturing learning environment
Requirements:
7. Experience working with children with SEN (school-based experience preferred)
8. Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
10. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
What We’re Looking For:
– Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, Youth & Community Work, or related fields.
– Non-graduates with relevant experience in youth work, mentoring, or social care are also encouraged to apply.
– A strong interest in working with young people who are at risk of entering the criminal justice system.

– A calm, patient, and resilient approach, with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
– Experience (voluntary or paid) with vulnerable young people, SEMH, or youth offending (desirable but not essential—full training provided).
