We are looking for a reliable Store operative to join our client team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, picking, and issuing goods accurately, as well as replenishing on-site vending machines.
Location: Newton Aycliffe, DL5
Shift: Hours of work are Monday to Friday 07:00 to 15:00, 15:00 to 23:00 and 23:00 to 07:00. Shifts are rotated on a 3 weekly basis Nights, Afternoons then Days.
Pay rate: £12.71 p/h. Afternoon shift supplement of £94 p/w. Night shift supplement of £155 p/w.
Purpose of Role
To efficiently manage stock movements on site, ensuring goods are received, picked, issued, and replenished accurately, while maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate all inward and outbound stock movements efficiently, following company procedures and IT systems.
- Pick and issue goods accurately and highlight discrepancies to management.
- Replenish stock and vending solutions daily to maintain agreed service levels.
- Ensure all goods are stored safely and correctly, following regulatory responsibilities.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and manned stores counter area.
- Work with the On-site Supervisor to manage stock profiles and reduce stock outs.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping throughout working hours.
- Support colleagues to achieve overall customer service levels.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with company and customer stocktakes as required.
Key Performance Measures
- Accurate picking and timely dispatch of goods.
- Accurate booking in/out of stock.

- On-site Supervisor / Manager
- Customer (face‑to‑face interactions)
Role Requirements
Experience & Knowledge:
- Experience in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of stock control systems and procedures.
- Experience in Engineering or Industrial Supplies (desirable).
- Customer‑facing experience.
- PC literate (MS Office).
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Good organization and time management.
- Forklift license (desirable).
