We are a leading provider of high-performance valve products for the oil, gas, petrochemical, and hydrogen markets. Our global business operates worldwide and collaborates with distributors and customers in over 150 countries. The Buyer works closely with the Purchasing Manager to ensure the procurement of high-quality CNC machined components, raw materials, and soft parts, both on time and at the right price. This established brand has been in operation since 1977.
Description of Position:
Buyer role Responsibilities
* Procure components, materials, or soft parts in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
* Monitor the internal requisition system.
* Forecast product demand based on historical data.
* Initiate enquiry processes for purchasing supplies.
* Negotiate costs within budget constraints.
* Negotiate delivery dates to meet customer requirements, including expediting deliveries when needed.
* Prepare and process purchase orders.
* Collaborate with the internal quality team and suppliers to resolve quality issues or rejects.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Understanding of CNC machining (Turning & Milling), especially multi-axis, is advantageous.
* Experience with raw materials such as Stainless, Carbon, Duplex steels is desirable but not mandatory, as full training is provided.
* Proven ability to control and reduce external spend while developing a robust supplier base.
* Ability to modernize processes and suggest improvements for efficiency.
* Familiarity with modern procurement and purchasing techniques.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Full Driving License required.

* The Buyer is a critical role within Alco Valves Group, reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager.

Compensation
Competitive, depending on experience.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 – 16:45, with a lunch break from 12:30 to 13:00 (or as required).
33 days of annual leave, including flexible and statutory holidays.
