Job Title: DV Cleared 3rd Line Virtualisation Support Engineer
Location: Basingstoke - Occasional travel to London
Rate: Up to £600pd via an approved umbrella company
Duration: 6 months with possible extension

Your role
We are looking for a 3rd Line Virtualisation Support Engineer to work with our 3rd Line team and Engineering teams. Your role will involve assisting high profile user community via incident logging application.
Based in Basingstoke you will be provided with legacy infrastructure training.
Essential Knowledge and Skills Required:
1. Microsoft Windows Server 2003-2022
2. Active Directory and Group Policy
3. Role & Functional based Security Delegation and Layers
4. DNS, WINS and DHCP
5. PKI Services
6. SMTP Proxy Servicing
7. Firewall management and controls
8. DFS, HA, Clustering, SOFS
9. RDS, VMWare, vCenter, ESXI, vMotion, HyperV, VMM Terminal Services
10. MS Cloud incorporating Exchange, Storage and Shares App serviced
11. Citrix deployments incorporating PVS\MCS
12. APP-v incorporating Citrix StoreFront
13. Powershell Scripting, MBAM/BitLocker/VPN
Desirable skills and knowledge/certifications
14. Any Microsoft / Citrix / VMWare certification
15. Wider understanding of client or midrange OSes, networking and security
16. HyperV, Azure and Google Cloud
17. HP BladeSystem, or similar blade servers / blade chassis and interconnect technologies
18. HP Cloud Service Automation, or similar self-service cloud management technology
19. HP Server Automation, or similar system configuration / software deployment technology
20. Symantec Datacentre Security, or similar security policy enforcement product
21. A deep understanding of Virtualisation and Container technologies
22. Design of large, complex systems including practical experimentation and development skills
23. Has both technical breadth and depth and great client engagement skills
24. Knowledge or appreciation of some the listed technologies;
Foreman; Puppet; Satellite; Ansible; Nagios; AI/ML; Big Data; Elastic Search; IaaS; PaaS; HPC; DevOps; AWS; Azure; Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift; Linux based applications
