Due to our continued growth, we are recruiting an IT Support Engineer for our Manchester office. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining the IT infrastructure and support the team by resolving hardware and software issues promptly and effectively.
Responsibilities
* Provide timely communication to users regarding the status of their service requests and incidents.
* Apply application maintenance, support, and incident management processes to support and maintain IT applications, investigating and resolving related incidents.
* Support users in resolving IT application-related incidents, service requests, and problems efficiently and in line with business needs.
* Prioritize and schedule support activities and tasks.
* Liaise with third-party suppliers to resolve IT application-related issues professionally and promptly.
* Provide first-line support for business applications and related software.
* Assist in application development under the supervision of the Group IT Manager.
* Design, test, and modify management reports using existing tools.
* Maintain technical documentation for IT application support.
* Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures, including ISO 27001 standards.
* Monitor hardware and software inventory, ensuring only approved/licensed devices and software are used.
* Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by the Group IT Manager.
* Implement a global IT strategy at the regional level.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of server hardware (e.g., Dell, HP).
* Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop and server OS, virtual environments.
* Understanding of ITIL principles related to Incident, Request, and Problem management.
* End-user compute support experience across multiple locations.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Cloud stack, including Azure Cloud, Azure AD, M365, Exchange Online, and SharePoint.
* Experience with network, Wi-Fi, and enterprise firewall solutions across various vendors.
* Understanding of Microsoft Defender suite, AIP, DLP, and Cloud Security.
* Knowledge of enterprise backup solutions like Veeam or Azure Backup.
* Experience with cloud and on-prem storage solutions.
* Familiarity with monitoring tools, traffic analyzers, NetFlow collectors, and capacity management.
* Understanding of Threat Prevention, Detection technologies, Malware Detection, and Remediation.
* Experience with SIEM, Azure Sentinel, vulnerability management tools like Qualys, Tenable IO, Nessus, and Windows patch management.
* Knowledge of Information Security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls.
* Experience with Secure Email Gateway and email archiving systems.
* Autodesk product suite experience is a plus.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Presentable with excellent customer-facing skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce comprehensive documentation.
* Ability to plan and prioritize workload effectively.
* Willingness to travel within the UK to other Black & White offices.
