Our client is a well-established B2B group based in Wiltshire.
They are looking to recruit a Finance Director Designate who will replace the existing Finance Director by the end of 2025.
Finance Director Designate - The Role
As Finance Director Designate, you will play a key role in the business, driving process and reporting improvement, ensuring regulatory compliance and providing sound financial advice to the Board.
You will be required to get into the details while also being a confident communicator when presenting financial data.
Package: £70k, plus healthcare, life insurance, pension and shares/ dividends
Key responsibilities include:
* Contributing to strategy at a leadership level within the organisation;
* Overseeing the finances of the business, including production and analysis of monthly results and responsibility for VAT, tax, payroll, treasury, foreign exchange, cash management, insurances etc;
* Ability to provide sound financial and commercial management, including budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management;
* Coordinate the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports and develop systems and processes to improve reporting requirements;
* Carry out financial planning and analysis to support strategic and operational decision making;
* Model and forecast the strategic plans of the companies and communicate possible outcomes to the Directors. Formulate plans and risk analysis to help in its growth;
* Prepare and present financial reports to the key stakeholders;
* Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, external accountants and HMRC;
* Lead and mentor the finance team, including developing and training staff;
* Oversee tax planning and compliance;
* Ensure all statutory financial and company secretarial compliance requirements are met;
* Manage and oversee HR, including employment contracts, pension scheme, payrolls and benefits;
The Successful Applicant
As Finance Director Designate, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) who has experience of working in SME.
Ideally, you will demonstrate:
* Strong commercial and analytical skills and be comfortable putting forward business development ideas backed by such analysis;
* A diligent, proactive and hands-on problem-solving attitude - prepared to get into the detail of the accounts as well as assisting with strategic planning;
* Experience of working with imported goods and foreign currency is desirable.
* Experience in developing systems to improve reporting requirements;
* Exceptional analytical, presentation and Excel skills;
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation;
* Strong commercial acumen;
* A pragmatic and self-motivated mindset.
