Quantity Surveyor (2 Positions Available)
Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester
Salary: £50,000‑£75,000 DOE + comprehensive benefits package

The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of civil engineering projects from inception through to final account. Working closely with operational teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers, you will help ensure projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong commercial controls throughout the project lifecycle.
- Managing project costs and commercial performance across multiple civil engineering projects.
- Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Procuring and managing subcontractor packages.
- Reviewing and negotiating subcontract agreements.
- Identifying, pricing and managing variations and compensation events.
- Monitoring project budgets, forecasts and cost reporting.
- Preparing monthly cost value reconciliations and commercial reports.
- Supporting project teams with commercial advice and guidance.
- Managing contractual correspondence and maintaining project records.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assisting with risk management and identifying opportunities to improve project profitability.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, highways, water or related sectors.
- Good understanding of NEC contracts and commercial management principles.
- Experience managing subcontractor procurement and accounts.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting systems.
- Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Full UK driving licence.
