Job Summary
We are recruiting a Neonatal Sister/Charge Nurse to work in liaison with the Ward Manager and other Sisters. You will lead and coordinate a dedicated team of nursing and support staff in delivering high-quality nursing care. In the absence of the Ward Manager, you will be responsible for the effective deployment of ward resources, including manpower. You must adhere to the NMC Code of Practice and ensure ward compliance with hospital policies and procedures. Additionally, you will assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring governance systems related to risk management, health and safety, and controls assurance.
Main duties of the job
* Monitor nursing practice and effectiveness, ensuring safety for patients and staff.
* Ensure equitable and effective delegation of tasks based on individual skills and development needs.
* Maintain effective communication within the team and externally over 24 hours.
* Implement feedback mechanisms, providing guidance and encouragement.
* Provide specialist nursing advice within the ward and to other departments.
* Evaluate nursing actions and plan improvements for service enhancement.
* Identify opportunities for service improvements and implement change processes.
* Support family-centered care and promote parental/carer participation in care.

* Excellent verbal communication skills

* Good IT skills
