Director, US Marketing Platforms & Data Product LONDON, United Kingdom BRIGHTON, EAST SUSSEX, United Kingdom (Hybrid) Job Description Membership Portfolio Services, within our US Consumer Services Business, is responsible for developing and scaling several growing businesses that are strategically important to American Express. We are developing unique and differentiated ways to strengthen the Membership Model across Amex Offers, Advertising, Dining and Marketing Technology. The Enterprise Comms & MarTech Experiences (ECMX) team is a global organization that sits within Membership Portfolio Services (MPS). It is American Express' marketing services center of excellence with the charter of powering high quality, efficient, user-centric digital marketing experiences that accelerate business growth through optimized enterprise MarTech & MarOps solutions. You will be joining ECMX's MarTech organization, focused on providing frictionless, flexible, and flawless marketing and servicing experiences. Reporting to the Vice President, US Digital Marketing Product, this new role will be responsible for leading the roadmap and delivery of marketing technology capabilities. We are seeking a Director, US Marketing Platforms and Data Product to lead the strategy, evolution, and delivery of critical marketing technology platforms that power targeting, eligibility, data products, and offer source code management across US lines of business. This role will balance near-term platform ownership with a longer-term mandate to simplify, modernize, and unify the Martech ecosystem. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and an execution-focused product leader, capable of driving platform consolidation, retiring legacy systems, and shaping a future-state Martech vision that enables scalable, efficient, and data-driven marketing. Responsibilities Product Strategy & Ownership Own the product strategy and roadmap for core Martech platforms supporting Targeting, Eligibility, Data Products, and offer source code management Partner with stakeholders across Marketing, Technology, Data, Marketing Operations and other Product teams to define priorities aligned to business goals Ensure platforms are reliable, and optimized to support current and future marketing use cases Platform Simplification & Transformation Lead efforts to rationalize and consolidate Martech platforms, reducing redundancy and complexity Define and execute a roadmap for decommissioning legacy systems while minimizing business disruption Vision & Innovation Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve usability, and enhance speed-to-market for campaigns Champion modern product practices and emerging technologies to evolve Martech capabilities Operational Excellence Partner with Marketing operations teams to improve efficiency, reduce manual processes, and enhance platform usability Ensure strong governance, data quality, and compliance across Martech platforms Leadership & Collaboration Lead and develop a team of product managers and cross-functional partners Influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across diverse business units Qualifications Experience in product management, with a focus on Martech, data platforms, or enterprise systems Proven experience managing complex platform ecosystems, including modernization and legacy decommissioning Strong understanding of marketing capabilities such as targeting, segmentation, eligibility, and campaign execution Experience driving large-scale transformation initiatives across multiple business units Demonstrated ability to define and execute long-term product vision while delivering near-term results Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing senior leadership Familiarity with Targeting and Eligibility platforms and Data Platform and services Experience with platform consolidation, architecture simplification, or tech modernization programs Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the UK is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
