Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Location: Hybrid – Durrington / Falmer / Site-based on operational requirement
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum plus benefits
About the Role
We’re looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale Strategic Resource Option (SRO) water infrastructure programmes. This role will help coordinate project activities, support decision-making, and ensure delivery stays on track across cost, schedule and quality.
Responsibilities
* Support project coordination across design, procurement, delivery and closeout.
* Assist with governance, reporting and assurance for internal and external stakeholders.
* Support stakeholder engagement to enable timely decisions.
* Coordinate internal teams, consultants, contractors and framework partners.
* Support contract administration activities (NEC3/NEC4), including early warnings and compensation events.
* Assist with project tracking, including programme, cost and risk management.
* Support regulatory engagement with Ofwat, Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI), Environment Agency (EA) and RAPID.
Additional Requirements
* Hybrid working with occasional travel to sites and stakeholder locations; driving licence is essential.
* Involvement in site visits to support health & safety and quality compliance.
Essential Qualities
* Experience supporting infrastructure, utilities or engineering projects.
* Strong organisational and stakeholder coordination skills.
* Good understanding of project reporting, tracking and performance monitoring.
* Awareness of health & safety regulations, including Construction Design and Management (CDM).
* Commercial awareness and understanding of budgets and forecasting.
Desirable Qualities
* Experience working in a regulated water or utilities environment.
* Knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts and processes.
* Experience working with consultants, contractors and delivery partners.
* Working towards or holding a qualification in project management, engineering or construction management.
