A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Santander Economic Crime Risk team as an AB&C and FoTE Policy and Complex Advisory Manager in Santander UK’s second line specialist Anti-Bribery and Corruption/Facilitation of Tax Evasion Policy & Complex Advisory Team.
The team is responsible for maintaining the Ring-Fenced Bank’s AB&C and FoTE Policies and Standards and ensuring the Policies and Standards reflect external legislation, regulatory requirements, industry best practice and requirements issued by Grupo Santander. In addition, the team is an advisory escalation point for complex issues, and provides guidance on new, emerging, and current regulatory issues and developments.
In this role you will be providing advice and expertise on AB&C/FoTE matters to various stakeholders across the RFB including senior management, as well as working closely with other key functions and business areas including Group Financial Crime Compliance and our first line Economic Crime Risk advisory colleagues. You will also play a key role in developing and implementing Santander UK’s policy approach to AB&C/FoTE. You will work closely with our second line External Engagement Team, attend various internal and external stakeholder events and contribute to various external working groups, panels and benchmarking exercises.

o Providing specialist advice on complex queries and issues from relevant stakeholders
o Playing a key role in the definition, maintenance and implementation of ABC and FoTE-related Policies and Standards setting out minimum requirements across the financial crime lifecycle
o Representing Santander UK externally on AB&C and FoTE matters where appropriate
o Playing a key role in the provision of a second line of defence by advising stakeholders on how to achieve compliance with regulatory policies and providing guidance on new and emerging regulatory issues and developments
o Providing guidance on new and emerging regulatory issues and developments.
o Assisting with the compilation and reporting of Management Information to senior stakeholders
What you’ll bring.
o Proven Financial Crime experience, specifically covering the areas of AB&C and/or FoTE
o Strong drafting ability and experience, including briefings to senior management, complex advisory responses, and financial crime policy documents
It would also be nice for you to have.
o Excellent knowledge and understanding of the UK financial services regulatory framework, industry trends and best practice
o Experience of applying informed and risk-based judgement from a regulatory perspective to commercial situations.
o Excellent analytical, interpretation, influencing and communication skills (verbal and written); with an ability to communicate and network effectively to influence internal stakeholders.
o Good organisational skills and the ability to develop risk-based strategies and processes.
