About the Quantity Surveyor Passive Fire
As a Quantity Surveyor Passive Fire, youll be managing all commercial and technical aspects of passive fire protection contracts.
Working closely with delivery teams, clients, and supply chain partners, youll ensure projects are completed profitably, safely, and to the highest standards.
Your input will be key in producing valuations, CVRs, payment applications, subcontractor accounts, and forecasting.
This is a hands-on role that blends strategic oversight with day-to-day commercial control.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-end commercial ownership of passive fire projects
Accurate measurement, pricing, and evaluation of tenders
Take responsibility for contracts from pre-start through to final account
Maximise value and minimise risk through proactive cost management
Track and report monthly CVRs and forecasts
Submit detailed payment applications and manage cash flow
Identify margin improvements and implement commercial strategies
Procure and manage sub-contractor packages, including valuations and variations
Maintain compliance with Health & Safety standards and contractual obligations
Liaise with project teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure seamless delivery
What Were Looking For
Professional qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related field
Demonstrable experience in commercial management of construction projects
Prior exposure to passive fire works is desirable but not essential
Strong experience working with SORs, BOQs, D&B contracts, and subcontract procurement
A track record of producing accurate monthly reports and forecasts
Confident in managing subcontractor relationships and driving best value
Advanced Excel and strong IT system proficiency
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Able to work independently while being a collaborative team player
Highly organised and deadline-focused
