Temporary Role
Hybrid Working (1-2 days in the office per week)KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To provide effective support to non-executive Councillors in carrying out their scrutiny role by holding Cabinet, Senior Officers and other public bodies to account and contribute to the Council's policy development.
To take responsibility for all aspects of servicing Scrutiny Panel and Scrutiny Committee meetings.
To provide a full clerking service for the Council's Scrutiny meetings, including drafting reports, publishing agendas on the Council's Committee management system (CMIS), clerking meetings, drafting minutes and ensuring that actions are followed up
Developing and managing the Scrutiny work programmes through liaising with Senior Officers, Cabinet Members, Scrutiny Chairs and Vice Chairs and external partners.
Provide accurate procedural advice to senior officers, members and the public in relation to their respective roles at meetings.
To ensure all statutory and internal deadlines are met relating to the circulation, sign off and publication of reports, agendas and draft minutes.
To attend site visits, ad hoc meetings, informal meetings and pre-agenda meetings to assist panels with review topics.
To identify appropriate witnesses, internal and from the wider community, who are able to contribute to Scrutiny Panels' enquiries in relation to review topics.
