Overview
Contract Mechanical Design Engineer - Solidworks / Plastic Injection Moulding – Belfast (Hybrid). Up to £47 per hour, outside IR35. 6 month contract (likely extension). We’re recruiting for a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer with Solidworks experience to support an established electronics manufacturer in Belfast. This is a great opportunity to join a busy product development team working on high volume electronic products, with a strong focus on plastic injection moulded components and associated mechanical design.
What You'll Be Doing
* Producing and updating SolidWorks 2D engineering drawings
* Carrying out SolidWorks 3D CAD modelling and design refinements
* Supporting the design and development of plastic injection moulded components
* Working closely with a small engineering team on live product development projects
* Contributing to the design of products used to house electronic PCB assemblies
Skills Required
* Strong experience using SolidWorks
* Experience producing both 2D drawings and 3D models
* Background in designing plastic injection moulded parts
* Good understanding of GD&T / geometric tolerancing
* Previous experience in a mechanical design engineering role
Desirable
* Experience designing enclosures or housings for electronic PCBs
* Experience working on electronic or electro-mechanical products
* Background in manufacturing / product development environments
Contract Details
* Location: Belfast
* Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 to 4 days on site, 1 to 2 days remote
* Rate: Up to £47 per hour, outside IR35
* Contract Length: 6 months initially
* A one stage interview can be quickly arranged
