The role involves active project management of a large number of titles, maintaining accurate metadata and product information, managing peer-review processes, and ensuring smooth handover to Production. The Project Editor collaborates with the Design, Marketing, and Sales teams to prepare materials that support effective market delivery. The role also includes contributing to departmental knowledge-sharing, training new team members, and participating in workflow improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Project Editor plays a role in budgeting, helping forecast future publications and tracking progress against financial goals. We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. About You

Proven track record of managing projects and delivering to schedule Experience of, and engagement with, cross-format publishing, ideally in an academic environment Ability to work autonomously, prioritize a demanding workload, set and meet deadlines, and adjust priorities as necessary Excellent organizational, project-management, and time-management skills Ability to adapt to change and work across different subject areas and projects as required Excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to work and communicate productively, ideally with senior academics and/or professional authors Work demonstrates high levels of accuracy and attention to detail Good IT literacy and adaptability We are the world's largest university press, serving the academic community by partnering with institutions and learned societies to bring knowledge to students and researchers worldwide. The Project Editor manages and delivers a pipeline of contracted book projects within the Content Development group, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations. This includes overseeing content creation for print and digital formats.
