Job Description Purpose
To work with clients to provide a world‑class range of investment solutions and products across all asset classes, wealth structuring, lending and banking services.
Accountabilities
Provide SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, covering features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks, and compliance.
Identify market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, analyze data from sales figures and customer feedback to support product development and communicate key findings to stakeholders to improve product offerings.
Respond to customer inquiries, resolve issues and guide product usage.
Present product advantages and features to potential customers, building trust and encouraging adoption.
Assist in developing and executing marketing materials such as brochures, presentations, and online content.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge with colleagues and stakeholders.
Engage in events, conferences and networking opportunities to showcase the product and generate interest.
Director Expectations
Manage a business function, providing significant input to function‑wide strategic initiatives and influencing policy and procedures. Contribute to, coordinate, and lead multi‑complex, critical strategic projects.
Lead a large team or sub‑function, guiding people managers and embedding a performance culture aligned with business values.
Serve as an individual contributor leading organisation‑wide projects, acting as a deep technical expert and thought leader to identify new ways of working and cross‑functional collaboration.
Train, guide and coach less‑experienced specialists; provide information impacting long‑term profits, organisational risks, and strategic decisions.
Offer expert advice to senior functional management and committees, influence decisions beyond the function, and provide significant input to function‑wide strategies.
Manage, coordinate, and enable resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for a significant sub‑function; ensure regulatory compliance and advocate for the organisation where appropriate.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of industry theories, sector practices, and external market developments; utilize analytical skills to solve complex problems.
Negotiate and influence senior stakeholders internally and externally; act as principal contact for key clients and counterparts.
Serve as a spokesperson for the function and business division, demonstrating the four core LEAD behaviours and Barclays values and mindset.
Role Responsibilities
The holder will lead the Wealth Advisory proposition for the UK international business in London and provide additional support to PBWM platforms in Dubai and Singapore. Regularly meet highly successful international private clients with net worth typically north of US$20m, and in some cases up to US$1bn. Travel to meet clients across multiple regions following cross‑border frameworks.
Provide estate planning services to PBWM clients holding over £5m assets, analysing their holistic needs and delivering innovative, creative, cross‑border succession planning solutions in coordination with tax and legal advisors.
Assist clients in identifying optimal structures for asset acquisition, succession planning for family businesses, wealth advisory considerations when relocating, re‑structuring existing wealth structures, and transferring trusts or corporate structures.
Directly contribute to revenue generation by closing estate planning structures, seeking Net New Assets (NNA) and encouraging key clients to conclude such structures.
Operate with detailed understanding of Res Non‑Dom client base and pursue new business opportunities from Private Bankers, advancing all leads through sale completion, technical material preparation, and pipeline tracking.
Lead in business development, leveraging external contacts (KBIs, fiduciaries, lawyers, accountants) to source “New to Bank” clients.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience working with international clients across Middle East, Asia, Europe, Latin America, NRI, Africa and global family offices.
* Strong analytical, interpretative thinking and advanced problem‑solving skills in complex or sensitive situations.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management at senior level.
* Demonstrated ability to lead large teams or sub‑functions, embed performance culture and coach others.
* In‑depth knowledge of investment products, regulatory environment, and wealth advisory best practices.
* Prior exposure to estate planning, trusts, insurance solutions, tax‑law advisory and cross‑border wealth structuring.
* Proven track record in business development, pipeline management and revenue generation.
