Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Associate Analyst - Belfast, Portadown or Garvagh - Permanent An excellent opportunity for an ESG Analyst to support the delivery of key sustainability and governance initiatives within a leading waste management organisation. Working alongside the Environmental & Sustainability Manager, you will assist with ESG data collection, research, and reporting across group operations while developing your skills through structured training and mentorship. This organisation operates one of Northern Ireland’s most advanced and integrated waste management networks, focused on sustainable recovery and resource efficiency. Through significant investment and innovation, it now diverts large volumes of waste from landfill using modern treatment facilities and a state-of-the-art waste-to-energy plant. About the role:
1. £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (DOE)
2. Monday to Friday
3. 40 hours a week (8am - 5pm)
4. Annual discretionary bonus (subject to performance and KPI achievement).
5. 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays).
6. Permanent role
What you'll be doing in this role:
7. Support the collation, analysis, and interpretation of ESG data from multiple sources and stakeholders.
8. Conduct research on ESG-related areas, including climate change, carbon reduction, diversity and inclusion, and corporate governance.
9. Assist in the development and maintenance of ESG frameworks, methodologies, and performance scoring systems.
10. Contribute to the preparation of ESG, SECR, and ESOS reports and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
11. Collaborate across departments to embed ESG principles into company strategies and operational practices.
12. Monitor emerging ESG standards, best practices, and regulatory developments.
13. Provide analytical and administrative support on project-based assignments and cross-functional initiatives.
14. Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
What you'll need for this role:
15. Degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or Sustainability (or a related discipline).
16. Strong interest and enthusiasm for ESG and sustainability.
17. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
18. Proven integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
19. Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
20. Full UK/EU driving licence and appropriate business insurance, as travel between company sites may be required.
