Painters are responsible for delivering high-quality decorative finishes across residential and/or commercial sites. This includes preparing surfaces, matching colours, applying paints and finishes, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the clients specifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work closely with clients to understand requirements and ensure all work meets agreed specifications
2. Measure work areas accurately to estimate time, materials, and resources required
3. Prepare surrounding areas by protecting fixtures, furniture, and floors to prevent damage or mess
4. Prepare surfaces for painting, including removing old finishes, filling holes and cracks, sanding, and washing surfaces
5. Select and use the appropriate tools, equipment, and materials for each job
6. Mix and match paints and finishes to achieve the required colour, texture, and appearance
7. Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other decorative finishes to walls, ceilings, furniture, and other surfaces
8. Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail throughout the project
9. Clean, maintain, and store tools and equipment, and restore the work area on completion, including replacing fixtures and rearranging furniture
