About us
Linden Bridge is a Special School inWorcester Park, Surrey for approximately 140 children and young people withcomplex social communication needs catering for children aged 4 To 19Years. At Linden Bridge we provide effective specialist educationand support to pupils with autism and to their families, enabling pupils toachieve their full potential in education and in life.
We have a small Residential Departmentwith 16 beds in which pupils can board during term time only.
Within the school grounds, our pupilshave access to lots of outside space, including play equipment, covered playareas, gardens, and outside gym equipment. We also have an indoor swimming pooland 3 school minibuses which are in regular use by the pupils.
Job Description
This is a permanent role, working 29.5hours per week/39 weeks a year (term time).
Working Pattern: 9:00am to 3:20pm, Mondayto Thursday, and 8:40am to 3:20pm, Friday.
We are looking for enthusiastic Special Needs Assistants to work in classalongside a Teacher and Teaching Assistant where there is an identified needfor additional pupil support. We are looking for people who will act as apositive role model to our students and who under direction of the classteacher, will be able to support our pupils in their progress and learningusing specialised SEN strategies across the school.
The post-holder will work alongside theclass teacher and Lead TA to raise the learning and attainment of all pupils inboth academic and EHCP areas. Supporting pupils individually or in groups sothey can access all areas of the curriculum and helping to promote pupils’independence.
If you have previous experience in this field, it would be anadvantage however this is not a requirement as we offer comprehensive inductionand training package to all new employees. To be a successful candidate, youmust have basic numeracy and literacy skills e.g., GCSE qualification inEnglish and Maths or equivalent and you should have a basic understanding ofHealth and Safety regulations, basic IT skills and an enthusiasm to learn.
