Job Summary:

The Finance Innovation & Transformation Lead is the central coordinator and delivery driver for the firm’s finance transformation programme. Acting as a strategic advisor and change agent, the role ensures that transformation across people, processes, systems and data is delivered in a structured, well-governed, and strategic manner. The Finance Innovation & Transformation Lead will support the Head of Finance and Finance Director in designing and delivering the finance function of the future, including enabling major financial management system upgrades and associated operating model changes. This includes leveraging best practices, technology, and innovation to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and decision-making.


Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:

• Strategy, Planning & Governance
▪ Develop and execute a holistic finance transformation strategy aligned with business objectives.
▪ Develop and manage the finance transformation programme plan.
▪ Establish governance structures, including steering groups and workstream forums.
▪ Ensure alignment to the organisation’s strategic priorities and finance vision.
▪ Develop business cases for transformation initiatives.

• Programme Delivery & Workstream Coordination
▪ Coordinate activity across all workstreams (systems, process redesign, change, data).
▪ Track delivery progress, identify risks, and manage dependencies across workstreams.
▪ Redesign and optimise finance processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
▪ Implement industry best practices and leverage automation technologies to streamline operations.
▪ Lead the selection, design, implementation, and integration of finance systems.

• Reporting, Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
▪ Produce accurate and insightful reports for Finance and Business Enablement leadership and governance groups.
▪ Drive clarity around programme objectives, timelines, and expectations.
▪ Maintain high-quality project documentation, risk logs, and decision records.
▪ Build relationships with stakeholders at all levels and manage resistance to change.

• Risk, Issue & Budget Management
▪ Own and maintain programme RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
▪ Track programme budget and monitor resource requirements.
▪ Escalate programme-critical issues with mitigation recommendations.
▪ Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the transformation process.

• Innovation, Change & Readiness Enablement
▪ Partner with the Finance Process Excellence & People Lead and the People team (Business Partners and Learning & Development) to support behavioural change and staff readiness.
▪ Promote innovative thinking and continuous improvement within finance.
▪ Facilitate workshops and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
▪ Develop and execute comprehensive change management plans to ensure successful adoption of transformation initiatives.
▪ Provide training and support to Finance teams throughout the transformation journey.

• Team Leadership & Development
▪ Lead and mentor a high-performing finance transformation team.
▪ Develop talent and succession plans to build a strong finance organisation.
▪ Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Fully qualified accountant with a recognised UK professional designation.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in finance, with a strong focus on transformation and consulting.


Skills & Experience Required:
Essential skills:
• Proven experience in delivering transformation or change programmes.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with a strong focus on transformation and consulting.
• Strong project or programme management capability (formal methodology desirable).
• Deep understanding of finance functions, processes, and technologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience of systems implementation or digital transformation.
• Highly organised with strong planning and coordination skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
• Ability to work across multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.

Desirable skills:
• Experience in finance, corporate services, or operational improvement.
• PRINCE2/Managing Successful Programs (‘MSP’)/Agile accreditation.
• Experience within regulated, public, or professional services environments.
• Experience in managing and influencing cross-functional and cross-jurisdictional teams.
• Understanding of support functions in professional services.

Travel Requirements:
Travel between the Channel Islands is expected. Occasional travel to the UK and Operation Centres in Europe may be required.
