Job Description
Job Purpose: Investment Management Administrators are responsible for actively supporting investment managers in their daily business across wide-ranging administrative and organisational functions. Providing an accurate and efficient service helps maintain a strong relationship between the investment manager and the client.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deal with administration for the team and identify ways of improving efficiency.
* Assist in all aspects of opening and maintaining client accounts, including obtaining AML documentation.
* Keep client information up to date and assist in the production of client suitability reports. This may involve communicating directly with clients and intermediaries such as solicitors and accountants.
* Follow the progress of new investments and address any issues that arise.
* Liaise with the accounts department over cash movements and administer payments.
* Set up, close, and manage client files, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
* Ensure compliance regulations are adhered to.
* Follow up on potential new client connections and ensure necessary forms are completed and processed.
* Manage occasional special projects, such as the collection of Know Your Client (KYC) information.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Educated to GCSE or equivalent level, including Maths and English. A levels are preferable.
* An industry-recognised qualification such as an Investment Operations Certificate is advantageous but not essential.
* Experience in a similar environment is preferable, along with a general understanding of the stock market and investment operations.
Knowledge & Skills:
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Highly organised and numerate.
* Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
* High degree of initiative in problem-solving and identifying tasks that need to be completed.
* Strong team player with the flexibility to adapt to different working styles.
* Enthusiastic, 'can-do’ attitude, combined with a personable manner and good sense of humour.
* Good IT skills, with knowledge of Excel and Word.
