Overview
Inspire Resourcing are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Manual Machinist to join our small, hands‑on workshop team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys intricate, precision work and takes pride in producing high‑quality components. You will work with both traditional manual machines and a 2‑axis CNC machine, using engineering drawings to create accurate parts to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate manual machining equipment, including lathes, mills, and related workshop tools.
- Produce high‑precision components, often involving intricate or fine‑detail work.
- Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Set up and operate a 2‑direction (2‑axis) CNC machine, including basic programming or adjustments as required.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report any issues promptly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to solve machining challenges and improve processes.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a manual machinist or similar role.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience with 2‑axis CNC machining (setting, operating, or basic programming).
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Ability to work independently in a small workshop setting.
- Good problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach.
