QC Analyst/ Chemist Medical Devices
Location: North Yorkshire
Type: 12 month fixed term contract
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30, Friday 08:00-16:00
Working 2 out of 3 Fridays, with every 3rd Friday off
Salary: £29,808.85
Our client, a leading multi-site Medical Devices company, is seeking an experienced QC Analyst to work at their modern North Yorkshire facility. The site is state-of-the-art and operates under the medical devices sector standards (QMS 13485, GMP, GLP).
The Role:
1. Conduct laboratory-based analytical testing and sampling of Raw Materials, WIP, Finished Goods, and Stability samples in line with business targets. Testing includes HPLC, GC, UV, IR, etc.
2. Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the laboratory.
3. Contribute to and perform test method development and validation as needed.
4. Assist in technical laboratory investigations for specific projects.
5. Maintain laboratory notebooks and files to ensure compliance with Quality Systems, including audits and archiving.
6. Perform good laboratory practices, including calibration, stability documentation, and material ordering.
7. Support validation activities such as equipment qualification and method improvements.
8. Work independently on assigned tasks, managing time effectively and coordinating with project timelines.
9. Develop a thorough understanding of products and processes related to assigned projects.
10. Plan workload and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
11. Adhere to site health and safety procedures.
The Person:
1. Degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
2. Experience in Medical Devices (GLP and/or GMP/ISO 13485) or similar environments (pharmaceutical, chemical, or contract testing).
3. Proficient with various instruments and testing techniques, including HPLC, GC, etc., in a multi-testing environment.
