🕒 35 hours per week | Monday–Friday, 9am–4.30pm

Muirshiel Centre is a small, independent charity (SCO) with over 30 years of experience supporting adults in Inverclyde. We provide person-centred day opportunities for older people with support needs across Port Glasgow, Greenock East, Kilmacolm and Quarriers Village.
We’re looking for a caring, committed Support Worker to join our team on a temporary basis. If you’re passionate about helping people live fulfilling lives and want to make a real difference in your community, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do:
1. Support up to 20 individuals daily with tailored care plans
2. Provide personal care and encourage meaningful activities
3. Promote independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing
4. Work closely with families to ensure responsive, flexible support
What we’re looking for:
5. A warm, respectful approach and a genuine desire to help others
6. Experience supporting adults with a range of needs (desirable but not essential)
7. Willingness to undertake induction training
8. Commitment to person-centred values

Main duties and responsibilities
1. To participate in the assessment and care review process, including updating necessary service users records.
2. To contribute towards the provision of day care opportunity’s that assist individuals and groups of service users maintain a range of practical and social skills.
3. To contribute towards the provision of transport services including Escort / Driver duty’s.
4. To contribute to ensuring that the centre is maintained to a high level of cleanliness including engagement in cleaning duties as and when required.
5. To contribute to the provision of meals including kitchen duties ensuring compliance with organisational food hygiene procedures.
6. To participate in both training and skills development as deemed appropriate by the organisation in support of service development and or the provision of a flexible service.
7. To plan for social recreational activities ensuring premises are prepared and resources are available as required.
8. To plan for and participate in social recreational activities out with the centre.
9. To actively participate in staff meetings and formal supervision.
10. To be familiar with and adhere to all Health and safety requirements and instructions.
11. To undertake any other duties deemed appropriate by service Manager or management committee.
