The Team The Programme Delivery Director is responsible for the end-to-end leadership and successful execution of strategic programmes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role oversees multiple projects, drives delivery excellence, manages stakeholder expectations and ensures programmes are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Role and Responsibilities Define and implement programme delivery strategies aligned with business goals Establish and maintain governance frameworks to monitor performance, risks, and benefits Provide executive level updates to Exco, steering committees and key stakeholders Lead large-scale, complex programmes involving cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders Manage interdependencies between projects and resolve resource conflicts effectively Serve as the primary contact for senior stakeholders and vendors, ensuring clear communication Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to foster collaboration Oversee programme budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and return on investment Proactively identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues with appropriate mitigation plans Implement KPIs and drive continuous improvement through best practices and innovation Report programme status and updates to executive leadership and steering committees What you’ll bring Proven background in programme/project management, with experience in a Director level role Experience in Pharmaceuticals/Life Sciences or regulated industry would be beneficial - ideally with exposure working on projects across a wide range of business units Proven ability to build business relationships and understanding of different business areas Proven track record of delivery large-scale, high budget programmes (£10M) Strong expertise in PPM methodologies (Prince 2, MSP, Agile, Scrum, SAFe) Expertise in SDLC, DevOps or cloud migrations Exceptional leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills Strategic thinking – ability to align programmes with business goals Decision Making – strong judgement under pressure Influence & Leadership – inspires teams and gains executive buy-in Finance Acumen – budgeting, forecasting and cost control Problem Solving – navigates complexity with structured solutions What we offer in return Flexible benefits package Opportunities for learning & development through our varied programme Collaborative, inclusive work environment Diversity and inclusion Building an inclusive environment where people can thrive, grow and achieve their full potential is a priority.
