About This Career Opportunity
The position is for a Senior Environmental Consultant to work within the Assessments team in our Climate Change and Sustainability Services business in London. You will deliver impact assessments for projects at all levels, including major national infrastructure (transport, water and energy sectors) and urban development projects. Clients will include private developers, public sector authorities and other organisations. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary environment alongside other environmental, planning, engineering and urban design specialists, and will work closely with technical disciplines (both internal and external to Arup) to deliver high quality environmental consultancy services. Your remit will be to undertake technical work as well as assist with proposal preparation and marketing activities.
Responsibilities
* Accountable for delivering environmental impact assessment projects – this includes managing the assessment process and technical teams and reviewing all technical inputs.
* Writing environmental reports including EIA screening letters, EIA scoping reports, Environmental Statements and other environmental reports.
* Reviewing topic reports/inputs for compliance with EIA Regulations and project details.
* Project management activities including programming and budget control.
* Conveying and liaising with clients.
* Assisting with impact assessment team business development and marketing.
* Preparing bids and presentations.
What We Are Looking For
* Educational qualification to degree level, preferably a master’s degree.
* Full membership of an appropriate institute (e.g. Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) or equivalent).
* Chartered Environmentalist status – not mandatory.
* Project experience in Energy and/or Water sectors – desirable.
* Experience with the Planning Act 2008 Development Consent Order (DCO) process – desirable.
