Full-Stack Engineer | Early-Stage MedTech / AI Startup (UK)
This is a chance to join a genuinely early-stage MedTech & AI business as a core engineering hire, working directly with the CTO and shaping the product from the ground up.
You’ll be building and scaling web and mobile applications that sit at the centre of a real, regulated medical product. If you enjoy ownership, ambiguity, and building things properly, this one’s worth a look.
What you’ll be doing:
* Designing, building, and maintaining web and mobile applications using Vue, Nuxt, and Ionic/Vue
* Developing and integrating APIs across physical devices, mobile apps, cloud infrastructure, and frontend platforms
* Owning features end-to-end from architecture decisions through to deployment
* Working closely with the CTO, firmware engineers, and clinical stakeholders
* Writing clean, testable, well-documented code
* Debugging, optimising, and improving performance and user experience
* Influencing technical and product decisions as an early team member
What they’re looking for:
* 5+ years’ experience as a full-stack engineer, ideally in startup or scale-up environments
Strong experience with:
* Vue / React
* Nuxt / Next
* Node.js
* TypeScript
* PostgreSQL
* Redis
* Ionic (mobile development)
* Solid API, authentication, and database design experience (Postgres / DynamoDB)
* A demonstrable track record of technical excellence — public projects, demos, GitHub, open-source, etc.
* Comfortable working in ambiguity, taking ownership, and wearing multiple hats
* Confident communicator who can work across technical and non-technical teams
Nice to have (not deal-breakers):
* FastAPI, RabbitMQ, Kafka
* AWS-based workflows
* CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
* Experience with distributed systems or containerised microservices
The important bits:
* UK-based role
* Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship)
* Salary £65,000 - £85,000 doe
* Hybrid with one day a week on-site in Cambridge
If you’re a strong full-stack engineer who wants real ownership and a product that actually matters, this is one of those roles that doesn’t come up often.
