The Head of Farming is responsible for creating and implementing the Company’s Farming business strategy in the short, medium, and long term.ResponsibilitiesWork with the Head of Rural to implement effective business plans and vision.Ensure the delivery of the agreed strategy and foster high performance across the Farming department.Focus on business development to cultivate existing clients and establish new ones.Manage own client relationships.Collaborate with the Head of Rural to develop a culture of process improvement through training, communication, and system development.Achieve departmental budgets and reforecast as needed.Communicate financial information effectively within the department.Serve as a visionary and inspirational leader.Promote and drive the company's vision, especially within rural and farming sectors.Work with leadership and HR to recruit the right talent and foster a high-performance team.Inspire, coach, mentor, and develop successors, identifying top talent.Instill a business development ethos within the team.Model exemplary organizational behavior.Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate should be a strong communicator, highly numerate, adaptable, and flexible. They should be an experienced agriculturalist who can represent Strutt & Parker with credibility, articulate the business vision, and develop clear plans to drive performance and measurable results.QualificationsDegree in an agricultural discipline.MRICS (preferred but not required).CAAV (preferred but not required).BASIS and FACTS (desirable but not required).ExperienceProven track record in the Farming sector with consultancy and client management experience.Leadership experience with a record of inspiring teams to improve performance and profitability.Strong market presence as a leader and new business developer.Experience delivering presentations, reports, and commentary to diverse audiences including media, webinars, and podcasts.
