An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Supervisor in Corby, UK. The role focuses on implementing a proactive approach to maintenance and reliability at ADM’s Corby Flour Mill. The supervisor will supervise, plan, and schedule a team of six maintenance technicians, blending hands‑on work with administrative duties (initially 75/25, increasing to 80/20 after 12 months). They will coordinate resources on planned outage days, collate and report KPI data, and, when the engineering manager is away, assume day‑to‑day running of the maintenance department. Working Monday – Friday 08:00‑16:00, the supervisor will also be on a 24‑hour on‑call rota.
Responsibilities
* Work within the Companies Health and Safety guidelines.
* Supervise, plan, and schedule maintenance activities for a team of six technicians.
* Participate in an out‑of‑hours call‑out cover rota for breakdowns.
* Issue permits and supervise on‑site contractors.
* Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical equipment to optimal performance.
* Drive 'right first time' maintenance, precision maintenance and best practice.
* Identify and review failures, downtime and lost production.
* Liaise with ADM Reliability Technical Centre (RTC) and asset care partners.
* Investigate and undertake electrical and mechanical breakdown repairs and fault finding.
* Ensure food safety compliance requirements are met.
* Oversee inventory management and coordinate procurement of parts for the maintenance stores.
* Work closely with production and senior management to prioritise activities for plant operation and maintenance.
Qualifications
* Preferably hold an HNC, NVQ Level 4, or equivalent in an engineering discipline, or be an experienced multi‑skilled engineer.
* Competent in working with voltages up to 415 V ac.
* Computer literate with Microsoft packages.
* Experience implementing and managing predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
* Previous experience leading small teams (preferred).
* Strong electrical and mechanical skills with competence in process control engineering.
* Root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work to high safety standards in a team environment or independently.
* Leadership and people‑management skills.
* Ability for activity planning and coordination.
* Self‑motivated with desire for continual personal development.
