DegreeSix Recruitment is a specialist agency working exclusively with Residential Children’s Homes and Supported Living services, supporting children aged 6-. We provide compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to help children with childhood trauma, attachment difficulties, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and challenging behaviours.
The Role
We’re seeking temporary/bank Support Workers to provide essential care across various children’s homes. This role is ideal for those who value flexibility, as it’s a 0-hour contract with no minimum hours but this means unfortunately there is no guaranteed work.
You’ll gain the opportunity to work across different homes and companies, with shifts available for days, sleepovers, or night shifts, allowing you to tailor your schedule to your lifestyle.
What You’ll Do
1. Provide emotional support, mentorship, and encouragement to children.
2. Follow care plans and adhere to safeguarding policies.
3. Engage in fun and educational activities that help develop children’s interests and hobbies.
4. Teach vital life skills to promote independence.
5. Updating low level documentation, log books ect.
6. Assist with domestic tasks like cooking, cleaning, and household upkeep.
What We’re Looking For:
7. Experience: A minimum of 3 months in UK children’s homes OR 6 months in adult support services.
8. Driving Licence: A UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
9. DBS Certificate: An Online Enhanced DBS Certificate. If not registered online, a new DBS can be arranged if required.
