Occupational Health Staff Nurse

The Occupational Health Department of Nottingham University Hospitals are looking to recruit a suitably experience registered nurse with current UK NMC registration to join our established nurse advisor team.
Main duties of the job
Key elements of the role;
Fitness for work assessments.
Work place Immunity Assessments.
Management of sharps and contamination incidents.
Support the promotion of workplace health initiatives.
Participate in department clinical audit and service development work.
We are a paper light department so excellent IT skills are a must and you will also need to be comfortable communicating with clients both face to face but also virtually e.g. telephone and emails.
You will work from our departments based on the Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital Campus but you should be be willing to travel to cover occasional clinics at external locations.
While Occupational health experience would be an advantage we can provide you with the training required.

The Occupational Health Team are part of the Corporate HR department and is comprised of a multi disciplinary team. We are a SEQOHS accredited service comprising a team of Occupational Health Doctors (Consultants & Registrar's), specialist nurses, nurse advisors, occupational health technicians & counsellors all supported by a team of medical administrator's. In addition to the services we provide to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS trust we also provide Occupational health services to a number of other NHS trusts and to a number private companies in the region.

Person Specification
Training & Qualifications
* Current UK NMC registration
Experience
* Must be able to demonstrate depth of nursing experience. Alternatively, have worked as a practice/community nurse or within an accident and emergency/urgent care setting.
* Confident in undertaking nurse led clinics.
* Administration of vaccinations and/or be able to undertake phlebotomy
* Must be able to demonstrate substantive experience of working with IT systems
* Experience of working within Occupational Health.
* Experience of providing clinic advice over the telephone
* Experience of using Occupational health clinical I.T databases e.g., OPAS G2
Communication and relationship
* Demonstrate clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
Planning and organisation skills
* Ability to prioritise and adjust as appropriate, own workload to ensure tasks are progressed/completed in timely manner
* Ability to analyse and resolve patient problems and queries.
* Experience managing a clinical case load
