Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s Home
Location: Sutton
Salary: £35,000 (FTE)
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Join Caridon Young Living – where every day you can make a real difference.
We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Deputy Manager to help lead our residential children’s home for young people aged 11–18. You’ll be a vital part of ensuring our home is a safe, supportive, and nurturing place – where young people feel heard, cared for, and encouraged to thrive.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home and stepping up in their absence.
* Leading and inspiring a team of dedicated support staff, managing rotas, supervisions, and daily responsibilities.
* Safeguarding the wellbeing of young people, ensuring their needs are met with dignity, respect, and equality.
* Building strong relationships with young people, their families, schools, social workers, and other professionals.
* Ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards, company policies, and safeguarding procedures.
* Rolling up your sleeves when needed – whether that’s keyworking, covering shifts, or stepping in during a crisis.
* Playing a key role in helping young people prepare for life beyond the home – from education and routines to personal development and independence.
About you:
You’ll be someone who leads by example, with a genuine passion for making a difference in young people’s lives. You’ll need to be:
* Qualified to Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), and ideally working towards or holding the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People’s Services).
* Experienced in residential childcare or similar settings.
* Confident in supervising and motivating a team.
* Flexible, resilient, and able to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
* Committed to equality, inclusion, and safeguarding.

* Work within a supportive team that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
* Make a tangible difference to the lives and futures of young people.
