Job overview
To be part of a team of Chaplains developing and providing a range of spiritual and pastoral services for the Wirral University Teaching Hospital Trust. All Chaplains are required to be able to care for others who may have a different philosophy, belief and value system.
The role includes participating in a 24 hour, on-call rota. This will include working weekends & bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team delivering care to patients, carers, visitors and staff, including being available to be advocates for patients, carers, visitors and staff working in-conjunction with relevant bodies.
Participate in education and training programs as delegated by the Head of Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
* Recognised (Ordained/ licensed) and in current good standing with Faith Community
* Ability to administer religious rituals and rites (inc. communion and baptism) as authorised by faith community in an appropriate way at the bedside and in Sacred Space.
* Educated to degree level – or equivalent experience
* Ability to travel for out-of-hours calls
* Previous Chaplaincy experience
* Counselling course/ advanced communication skills
* Teaching and mentorship course

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing a DBS application is met by the successful applicant/s. DBS costs are recovered via salary deduction following starting in post.
If the post you are applying for requires a DBS - Inline with Trust policy the cost of submitting and processing a DBS for successful applications would be met by the individual themselves. The amount would vary depending on the level required: Standard Disclosure £21.50+£6.50 or Enhanced Disclosure £49.50+£6.50 (please be aware the additional sum is an administration fee and may increase due to inflation). This will be deducted from your salary, in manageable monthly instalments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment.
