Newstaff Employment Services is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team.
The ideal candidate will be instrumental in managing the costs and budget of construction projects, ensuring that financial objectives are met while maintaining high standards of quality.
You will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to provide accurate cost estimates, monitor ongoing project expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Your expertise will help facilitate effective financial planning and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
2. Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process.
3. Conduct regular site visits to assess the progress and costs of ongoing projects.
4. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to provide input on project plans.
5. Prepare and submit tender documents and contractual agreements.
6. Negotiate contract terms with clients and suppliers.
7. Prepare reports on project expenditures and forecasts for management.
8. Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and safety practices.
Requirements
9. Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
10. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
11. Strong understanding of construction costing, budgeting, and financial management.
12. Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CostX, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel).
13. Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
14. Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
15. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
16. Membership or working towards membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is an advantage.
